Misiones comerciales

One of SEGITTUR's new areas of action –in line with the objectives of the National Department for Tourism, and contemplated in the PNIT– is the transfer and export of tourism know-how.

SEGITTUR has launched a process designed to foster the internationalisation of Spanish tourism companies by supporting them in opening up new markets, identifying projects and business opportunities for public institutions in other countries, and promoting the export of their products, technologies and tourism services, which are highly regarded around the world.

SEGITTUR aims to achieve this by means of MoU or Framework Collaboration Agreements between the National Department of Tourism and third countries. These agreements will outline a sweeping plan of action for the development of tourism in the country. This project will be implemented in close collaboration with ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, which will thus become a strategic ally in the Spanish tourism sector thanks to its extensive and proven experience in the internationalisation of Spanish companies and its widespread network of economic and commercial offices abroad.

Commercial Mission to Colombia, 26-29 November 2012

The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, through Sociedad Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovación y las Tecnologías Turísticas (SEGITTUR) and ICEX, España Exportación e Inversiones, organised the first technical course on tourism in Colombia from 26-29 November 2012, with the aim of highlighting the business opportunities available to Spanish companies in the country.

Colombia was the first destination chosen in view of its potential for Spanish tourism companies, who received over two million tourists in 2011.
These courses, held in Bogota and Cartagena de Indias, were designed as an opportunity to set up contacts between Spanish companies and potential local partners and customers, tourism package operators, investors or coinvestors, and companies. Indeed the mission, which involved 15 Spanish companies, saw over 200 bilateral meetings take place.

Technical Course on Tourism in Mexico, 23-26 June 2014

Thirteen Spanish companies took part in the Technical Course on Tourism in Mexico organised by ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones and Sociedad Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovación y las Tecnologías Turísticas (SEGITTUR).

This course was organised as part of the Specific Cooperation Programme in the Tourism Sector for 2014-2015 signed between the Mexican National Department of Tourism and the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation between Spain and Mexico.

The aim of this course was to explore at first-hand the opportunities offered by the Mexican market in the tourism sector, and promote cooperation between Spanish and Mexican companies in the tourism industry.

The following Spanish companies took part in the course: Asesoría y Gestión de Empresas de Hostelería S.L., Assignia Industrial, Cloud Hospitality Services, S.L., Deloitte Consulting, S.L División Turismo – España, Fundosa Accesibilidad, S.A. (Fundación ONCE), Fundación Tecnalia Research & Innovation, Fundación ITMA, IDOM Ingeniería y Consultoría, S.A.U., Instituto para la Calidad Turística Española (ICTE), Rusticae Latinoamérica, NH Hotel Group, The Movie Virtual, S.L. and THR Innovative Tourism Advisors.
