Systematising measurement with data is key to increasing the sustainability of the tourism sector, according to the conclusions of the sustainable tourism indicator monitoring report, carried out by SEGITTUR for Sanxenxo City Council.
Experts that met at the UIMP summer course in Santander organised by Santander City Council and SEGITTUR all agree that the smart destination method will improve the management of destinations
SEGITTUR and minube have produced the white paper “The new traveller: This is how the tourism sector is preparing its future”, which analyses the behaviour of tourists after the pandemic based on a survey of 1,700 users, complemented by the testimonies of more than 50 renowned tourism professionals.
Smart destinations will be the subject of study at the summer course of the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), to be held on 5 and 6 July in Santander, organised by SEGITTUR and the Santander City Council.
SEGITTUR in collaboration with Destination Lab, a partner company of the Smart Destinations Network, has developed a manual for the creation of a digital destination guide.
