SEGITTUR is to work with the Tenerife local government, through Tenerife Tourism, to establish strategic actions for the intelligent development of the island as a tourist destination.
As an agent for revitalising the tourism sector, SEGITTUR is an official partner of the European Commission EUvsVirus Hackathon and COVID-19 Startup Europe Awards, which is to take place between the 24th and 26th April.
Monitoring data outside the destination itself is key to analysing how tourism will recover following the COVID-19 crisis, according to the “Analysis and information methodology in Smart Destinations” webinar organised by the Smart Destinations Network.
The Smart Destinations Network held an extraordinary meeting today, led by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Oliver, to analyse the situation the tourism sector is experiencing due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The Spanish Government has suspended the payment of interest and repayments related to loans granted by the Secretary of State for Tourism within the framework of R&D&I Emprendetur, Youth Entrepreneurs Emprendetur and Internationalisation Emprendetur programmes for one year.
This week, SEGITTUR began working with the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz to help it become a Smart Destination. This is a result of an initiative promoted by the Basque Tourism Agency, Basquetour, to add value to this Basque destination.
