Digitalisation, sustainability and Smart Destinations will be the focal points of the 9th Fitur Know-How & Export, an initiative driven by SEGITTUR and Fitur in collaboration with the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX).
Fitur Know-How & Export will be held between the 19th and 21st May 2021 in an exhibition space of some 1600 m2. Almost 40 companies will be exhibiting innovative tourism solutions, from hotel management to strategic consultancy, promotion and online marketing.
This initiative is aimed at supporting the internationalisation of Spanish tourism companies by giving them the opportunity to show their potential and share their innovative services and products with other international markets.
Innovation, digital transformation and solutions that involve technology in tourism development, and above all in the development of smart, accessible and sustainable destinations, are key to shoring up the present and future of tourist activity.
This is why the first day of the 9th Fitur Know-How & Export will focus on different aspects relating to the Smart Destination model, as well as the needs and characteristics of the different destinations within the Smart Destinations Network.
It will discuss large urban destinations, sunshine and beach destinations, inland destinations, cultural destinations and heritage cities, while also noting the internationalisation of the model thanks to the collaboration of international bodies.
On the second day, experts will participate and discuss the tourism sector’s journey towards digitalisation and the standardisation and importance of cyber security. Different technological solutions available to tourist destinations will also be shared.
On the third day, the importance of sustainability in new tourism will be analysed. Topics to be discussed include the creation of sustainable tourism experiences and the role of the circular economy in the tourism sector.
Innovaspain’s Innovation 2020 annual report will also be presented during Fitur Know-How & Export, as this latest report focuses on tourism.
The SEGITTURLab space will again be present this year, offering practical workshops to tourism professionals, discussing topics such as cyber security, the importance of data when making decisions and new technologies such as virtual reality.
