SEGITTUR and FITUR Launch the 1st Edition of “The AI for Tourism Awards” competition

SEGITTUR and FITUR have called for applications for the first edition of the competition for technological solutions developed with Artificial Intelligence for tourism, the “The AI ​​for Tourism Awards 2024”, which will be held in the context of Fitur Know-How & Export, in recognition of the importance of AI for travel management and the tourism sector.

Artificial Intelligence has begun to play a prominent role in tourism. This technology has revolutionised the way travellers plan, book and enjoy travel.

The tourism areas in which Artificial Intelligence is present include personalisation of experiences, booking management and customer service, chatbots, facial recognition and translation.

The presence of Artificial Intelligence in the tourism sector has led to the creation of this competition, with the aim of finding the best Spanish and international solutions developed with Artificial Intelligence, and which destinations and companies in the tourism sector use to improve the tourist experience before, during and after the trip.

This first edition will have a single category for the best AI solution 2024. This category will be open to companies from all tourism verticals (hotel chains, airlines, travel agencies, etc.) as well as destinations.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 30 November, and the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 25 January 2024 at Fitur Know-How & Export.

The jury will be made up of professionals from the world of tourism and technology and chaired by SEGITTUR.

To select AI solutions for tourism, the jury will assess the degree of technological innovation, usability, the improvement of the user experience in its different facets, originality and the degree of scalability.
