The 11th Edition of Fitur Know-How & Export looks at data management, digital transformation and sustainability

Data management, best practices in the five pillars of the smart destinations model, digital transformation and sustainability were the keys at the 11th edition of Fitur Know-How & Export, organised by SEGITTUR and FITUR, in cooperation with the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), held between 18 and 20 January 2023.

Smart destinations remain the protagonists at Fitur Know-How & Export, at an edition that will address how the EU Next Generation funds are helping with the digital transformation of destinations, future jobs at DTIs or the role of councils as catalysts of the DTI model.

Special attention will also be paid to data spaces for tourism and the Smart Destination Platform, promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism, through SEGITTUR, and also financed using European funds.

Digitisation will be another of the main topics, as the event will see the first report on the degree of digitisation of tourism SMEs in Spain presented, the technologies for the transformation of destinations analysed and the DTI technological solutions guide released.

All without forgetting the importance of sustainability, focussing on the transition of the sector to the circular economy, looking at the practical case of destinations that are already working towards this goal.

Multilateral financial institutions will also be present, such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank or the CAF Development Bank of Latin America, with which Spanish tourism companies will be able to hold bilateral meetings to learn about their lines of action.
